Smiley Ben

Although he's been smiling for weeks, lately, Ben is one smiley baby. Even I can get Ben to smile when I make silly noises, but Mom's still his favorite. Sometimes Ben smiles when Jessy licks his hands and toes! Mom tells Jessy, "No," but Jessy is just curious and Ben doesn't seem to mind - unless he gets a big, wet, doggie kiss across the face! -jm

The Beach

We went to the beach last weekend for Spring Break and it was great. We found tons of shells and played in the waves, learned to avoid jellyfish and generally had fun. It was a bit windy, though. -jm

Baby Brother

Well, a lot has happened since Christmas, let me tell you. We definitely entered the birthday season at our house, which is accompanied by awards season, superbowl season, mardi gras season, valentine's day, black history month and something about presidents. And this year, winter olympics season. So, long story short, my brother Ben was born on January 15 and it's been a whirlwind of visitors and parties ever since! You'll just have to follow along with the pictues. (And yesterday, it snowed!). -jm

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...

...Christmas, but not really. It was 70 degrees this weekend and we went for a train ride on the Zilker Zepher. If you're ever in Austin, I'll take you; it's lots of fun. This last weekend we got ready for Christmas at our house: the tree is decorated, the lights are up outside, and my stocking is hanging on the wall. Now I just have to get through Friday, and then it's almost time for Santa to come! Can't wait! -jm

Sea World

What more could a girl want? Sea World this last Saturday was awesome. No crowds, no waiting, no problems. We saw Sesame Street Christmas, the Sea Otters, Walrus, Sea Lions, Penguins, Alligators, Flamingos, and Shamu, played on the playground, and even went on the Log Ride! (Dad says he can't believe I went on the Log Ride - he's impressed.) When can we go back?

Check Out My Pumpkins!

We carved some awesome pumpkins for Halloween this year. Mom and Dad make really great faces, and I like to pull out the mushy stuff inside. Actually, I don't like it much at all because my fingers get sticky, but it's fun to watch. Yay for Halloween! -jm

Busy Summer

This summer has been really hot and really busy. I've been really busy, too; I went to South Dakota to see Great Grandpa, started a new school, and have been helping Daddy get our house ready for the new baby. I think we are only going to get busier, though, since Halloween is right around the corner and I don't have a costume yet!
Last night Daddy read me two books; usually I get more, but he insisted two was enough - especially since it was late. -jm
